Current Productions

We write original scripts and work with partners in the theatrical arts to produce and stage performances. If you have a concept that you’d like to explore, or an idea to commission, please contact us and we’ll be glad to chat.

Our current productions include:

ImprovAIsed

Status: touring

An interactive show that combines improvised theatre, enhanced by technology, with scripted horror and a final twist.

Audiences are engaged by the premise and encouraged to contribute to scene and character creation, leading to hilarious comedic sketches that will be different with every performance. As the improvised performance appears to start going wrong, led by apparent bugs in the AI technology, audience members gradually realise that the show is becoming a scripted drama - is it a horror thriller or a black comedy? And then… the twist.

Performance Review

Status: available for performance

A short one-act play, written for two performers of any age; genders flexible.

Daniel is taking part in his first annual review, but he wasn’t prepared for such honest feedback about his performance… as a boyfriend. In 10-15 minutes, the play is darkly comic in its exploration of modern relationships, questioning the assumption that ‘break-ups are bad’. Performed as part of the ‘Short and Snappy’ series at NoName Theatre in Helsinki, March 2023

The Estonia

Status: in development

A psychological drama that uses sensitively-written dialogue to explore the human impact of one of the most significant maritime disasters in Europe.

The play delves into the emotional, mental health and moral complexities faced by two fictional passengers aboard the MS Estonia: one who survived, and one who did not. Unqualified Arts are working in partnership with Denmark-based writer Billy o’Shea to develop this production with the intention of running performances in August and September 2025, to commemorate the sinking of MS Estonia on its anniversary.
